What happens in your first session

- Open the Barracks and train. Prepare the Militia requested by the tutorial, then confirm your formation.
- Run an extraction. Deploy your squad, wait for its return, and open the haul chest. Bringing resources home is part of the job, not an afterthought.
- Assign a Defender. Set your commander to defend the Crawler against the Iron Covenant's incoming attack.
- Watch the replay. Review the battle to see how your squad held the line and what it cost.
- Recover the wounded. Claim the free New Player Pack, visit the Hospital, and use a Temporal Catalyst to boost a recovery.
- Enter the Frontier. Finish the guided recovery sequence and select Enter the Frontier. The tutorial places your Crawler on the main map; you do not need to drive there yourself. Your Crawler is protected from attack here, but extraction sites you occupy remain contestable.
The exact pacing may change as the beta evolves, but the purpose is stable: learn how your Crawler, commander, squads, and extraction loop connect before taking on open-world risk.
What to do after reaching the Frontier
The Frontier protects your Crawler from player attacks. It does not protect extraction sites you occupy: other players can contest those sites in every zone, including the Frontier. Use its protected Crawler parking to prepare before moving your base into the PvP-enabled Wastes or Deep Wastes.
Your early priorities should be:
- keep core refining and military facilities progressing;
- build a squad with a clear commander and troop plan;
- learn how extraction sites, carried haul, and banking work;
- study the zone boundaries before sending your Crawler outward;
- join an alliance when you are ready for coordination, reinforcement, and larger objectives.
